The Stylish Woman's Guide to the Easter Show
When most people think of the Easter Show, they think of crazy rides, showbags and fairy floss - and that stuff's great for the kids. Or there's the important men's business of watching and discussing horses, cattle or sheep being judged for hours on end.
But there's a whole lot of interesting bits and pieces for the ladies too. We've been visiting the Show for years now and have found plenty of unique surprises that you don't find anywhere else. Here is a snapshot of some of the best finds at this year's Easter Show:
Lady Kate
Well of course!! We will be in the Fashion & Style Pavilion again this year - same spot, for those who know it. We will have our full AW17 range, including some items that aren't yet available online, as well as a Show Special on select AW16 pieces. It's a great chance for us to catch up with our Sydney friends, and for you to try on the new collection, so please drop in and say hi!
Ollie & Max
Ollie & Max is a Sydney-based brand that sells the most beautiful quality linen shirts and dresses as well as some lovely new trans-seasonal and winter pieces. Their style is classic and chic - think quality fabrics in navy, neutrals and pastels - in sizes 8-24. Ollie & Max can be found in the Fashion & Style Pavilion. www.ollieandmax.com.au
The Stables
This is a must-go destination for foodies and gourmands. Indulge in some of Australia's finest produce and meet the people responsible for creating it. Hook into a Sydney Royal cheese and deli plate and wash it down with a glass of medal-winning craft beer, wine or cider. Here you'll also find Cold Brew Nitro Coffee's Espresso Martinis straight from the tap... need I say more?!
Eastbourne Art
Eastbourne Art is the creation of the very talented Trish Fraunfelter. Trish's screen-printed homewares include beautiful cushions, ironing board covers, aprons and door stops. The colours and prints are natural and organic and are great gifts for any home. Eastbourne Art can be found in the Fashion & Style Pavilion (next to Lady Kate this year!).
Country Style Showbag
You know they make showbags for stylish ladies too? This one from Country Style is full of lovely things like Crabtree & Evelyn soaps, Coconut Macaroons, Ginger Tea, Cocoa Butter lotion, garden seeds and a Country Style magazine. All packaged up in a calico Country Style tote for $15. Available in the Home, Garden and Lifestyle Pavilion. www.homelife.com.au/country-style
Page Shoes
Where else could you buy your own custom made pair of handcrafted leather ladies' shoes? Page Shoes will let you choose your own design from over 150 coloured and textured leathers. Once you have been fitted and chosen your style, colours and accessories, your shoes are cut, sewn, lasted by hand and will be with you within four weeks. Page Shoes can be found in the Fashion & Style Pavilion. www.pageshoes.com.au
The Man From Snowy River
Once you're laden with shopping bags, you've eaten your body weight in cheese and are feeling the warm glow of that Espresso Martini, then head to the Main Arena to sit back and be entertained by the night show. The Man From Snowy River show will give you goosebumps, with 100 horses and stockmen galloping around the stadium to Jessica's Theme; and after all that excitement, the evening ends the way every evening should... with a fireworks display. And just in case you still have room... there's a reeeeeaaalllly good gelateria on the way back to the car park. Just in case.
