Minibreak Series: Blue Mountains Escape
Looking for a minibreak where you can enjoy Winter in style? Somewhere with scenic bushwalks, picturesque villages and roadside fruit stalls? Enter the Blue Mountains just out of Sydney.
STAY
Curraweena House in Kurrajong is the perfect base from which to explore the Blue Mountains, and the location for our AW18 photo shoot. The house is as comfortable as it is stylish and a relaxing retreat to come home to each evening. www.curraweenahouse.com.au
SEE & DO After exploring the cafes and shops in Kurrajong Village, take a drive to Katoomba to see the Three Sisters, part of the World Heritage listed area of the Blue Mountains. Whilst there, stop in at Lilianfels for High Tea with incredible views over the Jamison Valley. Closer to home, Bilpin is home to rolling hills of fresh orchards. Visit the Bilpin Cider Company to stock up on local cider, or call in to one of the orchards selling fresh fruit and pies.
EAT
Wander down to Kurrajong to find plenty of great cafes for breakfast - the Village Kitchen is our pick. For lunch, Seasons of Kurrajong has beautiful food with a view to match, and for dinner book yourself into Lochiel House for dinner by an open fire.
WEAR
When you pack for the weekend, you want to travel as lightly as possible, so pack one jumper and wear it three ways.
For sightseeing and bushwalking, layer up your Shawl Collar Jumper with a gilet, gumboots and jeans. Don't forget your camera to capture that amazing scenery and of course for cosy, warm feet in your gummies, our Cable Knit Socks.
The beauty of a good knit is its versatility. A pencil skirt, R.M.Williams Millicent boots, shoulder bag and a few accessories is all you need to dress your knit up for dinner in the mountains.
If you're wandering through orchards (or antique shops) you want to be comfy. Team your knit with denim and sneakers for an off duty look.
