How to Wear: Breton Stripe Jumper

Brigitte Bardot, Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe and Kate Middleton.  The style icons that have worn the classic Breton top over the decades are numerous.  This season, Lady Kate recreates the classic in super-soft Australian Merino wool.  Featuring a funnel neckline and a lightweight fabric that can worn next to your skin, this item is sure to become a staple of your winter wardrobe this year, and for years to come.

Need some outfit inspiration?  Here's three ways to wear Lady Kate's Breton Stripe jumper this season...

Classic Navy
The classic Breton is right at home with other classic pieces - the trick with this look  is relaxed shapes and lots of navy accessories to  keep it looking effortless.  Think chinos (rolled up or cropped is great), loafers, a trench coat, straw boater and quilted cross-body bag.  It's a little bit French Riviera circa 1964 and a lot stylish.

Street Style
The navy stripe in this jumper is dark enough to pass for black, so go for an all-monochrome outfit.  For an edgier look, team your Breton with a black leather biker jacket and black silk bandana.  Distressed jeans and pointed ankle boots will help to build the rock chic tone and have you strutting down the street with attitude.

Pop of Colour
If you want to brighten up the greyest of Winter days, wear your Breton with primary colours.  Red and yellow are fantastic partners with navy, just make sure to have some navy accents to balance the look through your shoes, bag and accessories.  With a flowing pleated midi skirt and delicate ballet flats, this look will take you right through to the warmer temps of Spring.
