Recently we were fortunate enough to take part in a Country Style Magazine feature showcasing our recent collaboration with Amanda from Grampians Goods Co. I am so chuffed with how the feature turned out and excited to be able to share a peek at the feature written by Hannah James with imagery captured by the uber talented photographer Pip Danieletto, aka 'Pip Takes A Picture’)
You can see the feature in full by purchasing a copy of this month’s (May 2023) issue of Country Style.
I hope you love learning a little more about this collaboration and coming BTS with me.
A shared love of wool - and the land - brought two rural businesswomen together for a creative collaboration
"We both came from the same background of being inspired by the rural areas we live in,” says knitwear queen Penny Ashby of her friendship with Amanda Cochran of Grampians Goods Co. “And we both have that classic style with a modern edge.” Plus of course they both work with the material that built modern Australia: beautiful, comfortable merino wool. So when they discovered each other’s work, they did what women do best: they supported each other.
Working together was the next step, and, says Penny, “It naturally fit." Her brand Lady Kate’s boxy jumper had a contemporary vibe both women love, and adding the elbow patches made from the Grampians Goods Co’s recycled wool blankets ticked the classic style box, too.
“It all came together pretty organically”.
The design process might have been straightforward, but coordinating this shoot was not. Amanda lives with her three children on a farm outside Dunked, Vic, while Penny, her husband and their three kids are based 1300 kilometres away in Narrabri, NSW. Finally the two women met for the first time - and true to form , they created yet more magic.
The Woolmark-certified jumpers come in three colours and you can even buy matching blankets.
